cartel

Federal prosecutors have charged 24 people in an alleged Middle Tennessee drug-trafficking operation that authorities say was linked to the Sinaloa Cartel.

The 33-count indictment alleges the organization moved hundreds of kilograms of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine while laundering millions of dollars in drug proceeds.

Investigators believe shutting down the alleged traffickers will save lives.

The indictment is part of a Homeland Security Task Force investigation involving federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
