The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office tended to the Chota Recreation Center in Tellico Village, after a call alerted them of a car crashing into the facility on Wednesday morning. One person in the building was said to have sustained minor injuries due to the crash.
While specifics of the driver and their condition are relatively unknown at this point, LCSO deputies said that the crash was likely age related, and not due to the inclement weather sustained much of Wednesday morning.
The car backed through the wall of the recreation center, causing some structural damage to the place of impact. The facility closed today, according to the Tellico Village Property Owners Association Board Meeting, though its unclear as to its status throughout the remainder of the week.
