LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — There’s a new neighborhood gathering spot in town. And, according to a recent press release, it comes with cold craft beer, mouthwatering food “and a whole lot of East Tennessee hospitality.”
The Casual Pint Beerstro — Where Everybody Knows Your Name — opened its doors on Friday, Nov. 28, in Lenoir City … “bringing a fresh twist to the pub experience with a local, family owned touch,” the release stated.
At the helm? Derrick and Jim McNeillie, a father-and-son team with deep East Tennessee roots and a passion for bringing people together. Born from many shared conversations over beers at The Casual Pint, the dream of opening a Lenoir City location started as a casual idea — and now it’s pouring into reality.
“We’re proud to be local, to live local and now to serve our local community,” said Derrick McNeillie. “This isn’t just about beer, it’s about creating a space where neighbors become friends, Vol fans gather on game days and guests feel right at home every time they walk in.”
Derrick, who grew up in nearby Maryville, graduated from East Tennessee State University and built a career that has spanned everything from sports to finance. But it wasn’t until this project with his dad, Jim, that he found a true sense of purpose in bringing people together, according to the press release.
“This is personal for us,” added Jim McNeillie. “We’ve been dreaming about this for years and to finally open our doors in Lenoir City, a place that feels like home, means the world.”
WHAT’S A BEERSTRO ANYWAY?
The Casual Pint Beerstro is more than your typical craft beer bar. It’s a cozy, inviting bistro-style setting where the kitchen gets just as much love as the tap wall, the press release stated.
Think expertly paired bar food with a twist. Flatbread pizzas, brats, share-ables and regional favorites — matched with a rotating selection of local, regional and national craft beers on tap or to-go.
It’s a place where beer enthusiasts, families, casual diners and game-day crews can all find something they love.
GRAND-OPENING EVENTS COMING THIS MONTH
While the official opening was set for Thanksgiving weekend, guests can look forward to special grand-opening celebrations later in December … with more details to be announced soon.
