TELLICO VILLAGE, Tenn. — On the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 10 a.m. until noon, the Tellico Village Writers Circle meets at the Chota Recreation Center.

As a group, they discuss different literature they are writing and working on with each other in a healthy and productive manner.

Each member backs the other one up with motivation and comments on how to improve their work.

Feedback on Many Different Topics

The group dives into each other’s projects with the goal of brainstorming ways to improve them.

The group can point out different ways to improve punctuation, cover art, character development, sentence structure and even the content itself.

“The group is really positive,” Writers Circle member Chuck Roseberry said. “I never would have published my first book without it.”

A Variety of Backgrounds Within the Writers Circle

There are many different people in the writers circle that meet in Chota. There are former journalists, Hollywood writers, college professors, travelers and playwrights.

This variety of different backgrounds strengthens the workshops they have twice a month with better advice and feedback.

The Writers Circle also has some beginners in its ranks, as well. You don’t have to have an extensive background in writing in order to join in.

Seasonal Anthologies

One of the projects the group works on throughout the year are their anthologies that come out at the beginning of each season.

The stories in each anthology are themed around and based on the season. The group is currently working on stories for “Winter Tales.”

That anthology is set to be released and published on the winter solstice, which is Dec. 21.

Where can I buy the books? Interested in Joining the Chota Writers Circle?

The group’s anthologies and individual books are available for purchase at Preferred Pharmacy in Loudon, Tenn.

Tellico Village residents are encouraged to join the Writers Circle if they want to join a group that helps with positive and constructive critiques when writing literature.
