Tellico Village University has published its summer and fall curriculum that includes 23 courses offered mid-July through October.
As part of the program, Kerry Tripp will repeat her popular “The Art of Animation: Disney Characters for Children of All Ages” class on two Saturdays in July after Camp Tellico. Tripp will lead Village residents through steps to create Mickey, Donald and Goofy.
The “Tellico Skies Astronomy,” which was taught last year by Villager Roy Morrow, will be offered for all Villagers at the Kahite campus.
TVU webmaster Tom Kowalewski will offer web design and Adobe Photoshop classes, and Jennifer Dancu will provide a class on social media for seniors, with instruction focusing on Facebook and Pinterest. Computer application courses will be limited to 10 participants so the instructor can provide individual help.
Kowalewski will also provide a two-hour session on an introduction to the Internet and purchasing items online.
Ben Hazel, owner of Prees Trees, will offer four sessions for those who plant and maintain trees at their homes. Hazel is a certified arborist.
Other courses that will be offered this year include “Fraud Detection and Prevention,” “Understanding Climate Change, “An Italian Sampler: Language, Culture and Cuisine” and “Managing Shoulder, Back and Neck Pain.”
A University of Tennessee Medical Center dietitian will also teach a practical nutrition course. Attorney Mark Brown will teach Villagers about consumer rights and responsibilities.
To support the growth of Tellico Village University, seven additional Villagers have volunteered to act as course coordinators.
Registration for courses is required. For more information, visit http://www.tvuniversity.org.
