TELLICO VILLAGE, Tenn. — On July 24, the Tellico Village Kiwanis Club held its 20th annual Back-to-School Clothing Program at the Lenoir City Wal-Mart.
Fifty-six young students from area schools received gift certificates to shop that day for new clothes for the upcoming school year.
In a press release, the Club noted that it is especially indebted to its corporate sponsor — Malibu Boats of Loudon, Tenn. — for its ongoing generous support of the event.
Malibu Boats was represented at the July 24 event by Human Resource Director Shelly Strickland and Marketing Coordinator Shianne Warner.
Integral to the success of the event were Family Resource Centers Directors Susan Fox of Lenoir City Schools and Mandi Wolfe of Loudon County Schools.
The program was co-chaired by Kiwanians Jerry Wrubel and Ken Holt.
Also in attendance were representatives from Lenoir City and Loudon County schools. And many additional Tellico Village Kiwanians were present, as well.
“As always, Wal-Mart staff were invaluable in making the event run smoothly,” a press release stated. “The program is intended to make that very special first day of school even more special.”
The local Kiwanians continue to “Serve the Children of the World” per the Club’s motto.
