SNEEDVILLE — An investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment and arrest of a Sneedville man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl.
In March, at the request of 3rd Judicial District Attorney General Dan Armstrong, TBI agents began investigating allegations involving Timothy Ryan Gibson (DOB: 08/28/97). During the investigation, agents gathered evidence indicating that Gibson inappropriately touched a child at a residence in Sneedville in November 2025.
On Monday, Oct. 5, the Hancock County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Timothy Gibson with one count of Aggravated Sexual Battery. He was arrested and booked into the Hancock County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
At this time, the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are pending.
Two local children located
The TBI had issued an Endangered Child Alert late last week for Liam, 5, and Connor Calfee, 8, who were missing and had last been seen Sept. 30 in Mooresburg. The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office was able to report that the two boys had been located in Georgia and were safe.
The children had been believed to have been abducted by their non-custodial parents, both of whom were wanted by the HCSO on charges including custodial interference. Neither the TBI nor the HCSO confirmed whether this was in fact the case, but did state that the children were found and were safe.
