Rain, rain, go away ... Let the engines rev up today!

That’s exactly what happened Saturday, Aug. 1, at Rally Day at the Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Tellico Village.

The morning rain cleared up by 8 am, and while volunteers set up the event, the classic cars started rolling in with engines humming.

“There is truly no way to thank everyone enough for the help, support and joyful energy that was provided,” said Claire Moxim, Communications Directory at Shepherd of the Lake Church.

More than 50 owners of classic cars participated in the rally. Local musicians, The Top Notes, provided tunes for the event and The Food Lion grocery store donated all the fixings for hundreds of brats, hotdogs and drinks.

“We can’t list all the names because everyone played a part and everyone made a difference,” said Moxim.

Anyone interested in attending Rally Day next year, it will be held on Saturday, August 7th
