The Tellico Community Players hope to cause laughter with the first production of 2022.

“A Red Plaid Shirt” by Michael Wilmot will run Feb. 17-20 and 24-28 at the Tellico Community Playhouse, 304 Lakeside Plaza. Sue Aukerman is directing.

The play involves two couples, all four of whom have retired. The women seem to have adjusted reasonably well, but the men are lost without their careers and struggling to find themselves.

The wives tell the men if they can’t find themselves that they at least need to find something to do.

The hilarious dialogue has depth, meaning, insight and focuses on a topic to which most Village residents can relate.

The cast includes Russ Rinehart as Marty, Barbara Kistler-Martin as Deb, Bill Paxson as Fred and Lisa Silverman as Gladys.

Reserved seats are $21 and are available at www.tellicocommunityplayhouse.org.
