Decision obviously already made
I recently attended an “open” meeting on the proposed medical building in Tellico Village.
Everybody at the Tellico Village Property Owners Association board of directors meeting knew the decision was already made three years ago in spite of the moderator’s assurance that wasn’t the case.
In the next issue of The Connection, it was reported that the project was approved by the incumbents and rejected by the newbies on the POA board. This was a meeting to inform us what was already decided, regardless of what the majority of residents wanted based on specious surveys cited by the board. One survey was mentioned at the meeting that showed less than 10 percent of respondents approved of having a medical building.
The attitude of this board is to do as they want in spite of what the majority of residents would like. If they truly want input from residents, hold a meeting on a project before any decisions are made, state the case for a project — concentrating on why the project is needed — and then ask for comments that will be given serious consideration.
This board seems to think they can do as they please because the rest of us are dolts who don’t know what’s best for us. They act as if they don’t answer to us.
