MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A shooting Tuesday night at a Burger King in Midtown that injured a man stemmed from a fight over a stolen Apple Watch, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Two men — identified later as Dale Townes, 25, and Trevor Young, 30 — have been arrested in the shooting that happened just before 6:30 p.m. at the food fast restaurant on Poplar Avenue between North Claybrook and North Cleveland streets.

Officers arrived to find a man had been shot while his son was injured during a fight with the suspects, police said.

The son told MPD investigators that the two men accused him of stealing an Apple Watch from them. Police said they confronted the son and started fighting him in the Burger King parking lot.

The son ran inside the restaurant to get his dad, police said.

MPD said one of the men shot the father, leaving him in critical condition, before taking off in a pickup truck.

Police said the suspects were later caught.

Townes was charged with attempted second-degree murder and Young was charged with being accomplice in the shooting, MPD said.
