Flock camera, a camera that can capture the make, model, and license plate number of one’s car.

With this in mind many in Jackson have found themselves split on social media.

Between those who see it as a good way to find criminals and those who see it as an invasion of privacy.

39 News asked residents how they felt to have the cameras in their community.

“I think they're a major invasion of people's privacy. The fact that any police officer can access them. Without any warrant, without any cause,” said David Vince.

While some find themselves against the cameras others have found themselves somewhere in the middle.

"I have mixed feelings about them. I can see a benefit on one hand and then I could see the clear invasion of somebody's privacy on the other, so I mean I guess we're gonna have to live with them,” said Rafael Soriano.

“Well, there's, there's two different ways. I feel like it would help track criminals, but it's also an invasion of our privacy," said Tonya Nunez.

“I don't have an issue with them as long as they're doing what they're supposed to be doing and someone is manning them," said Lynette Anthony.

With so many divided opinions about the cameras, it remains to be seen what their future might be here in Jackson.
