MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man accused of shooting a woman to death in Baton Rouge was arrested during a traffic stop in Downtown Memphis, police said.
Memphis police officers stopped the car at South Second Street and Pontotoc Avenue just before 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
Police said officers found the woman dead in the passenger seat. MPD later determined she was not killed in Memphis.
The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) identified the woman as 50-year-old Lanessa Bradford.
According to BRPD, Bradford was with 50-year-old Tyronne Brazille at a Baton Rouge park when the two got into an argument. Police said Brazille shot Bradford.
BRPD said Brazille drove through several states before Memphis police stopped him.
Brazille was taken into custody in Memphis. He is awaiting extradition to Baton Rouge, where he will face a murder charge.
