A seven-month investigation by the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit led to the arrest of Jason Douglas Ford, 34, on July 7.
The investigation began in January after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children issued a cybertip regarding child sexual abuse material shared in Davidson County on the Kik messaging app.
Investigators used subpoenas to link the Kik account's email and IP address directly to Ford's home in the Donelson area.
Ford faces a charge of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and his bond has been set at $75,000.
Police noted that Ford works as the facilities coordinator at Midtown Fellowship in Nashville.
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding Ford's interactions with children to contact Metro Nashville Police detectives at 615-862-7540.
