Friendly cat needs home of calm respite

JJ is the featured pet of the week up for adoption at Monroe County Animal Shelter.

JJ is a large, friendly cat that is 7-8 years old. The cat has a heart murmur. He will need an indoor, quiet home. He has gray and white short hair, weighs about 13 pounds and has big orange and gold eyes. JJ seems to get along with other senior cats and dogs but would likely do best as an only pet with no young children so he has a calm atmosphere.

All pets adopted from the shelter are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and have a new collar and name tag.

Shelter needs include laundry detergent, newspapers, bleach, office supplies, brooms, mops, blankets and towels.

Visit the shelter 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays at 170 Kefauver Lane in Madisonville behind Walmart. The shelter is closed to the public on Sunday and Monday. For more information, call 423-442-1015.
