Join the Recreation Department this month while we exercise our strongest muscle — our heart.
Give non-perishable food items until your heart is content Feb. 6-16 when you visit the Chota Recreation Center, Wellness Center, Tanasi restaurant or Tellico Village Welcome Center. The Good Samaritan Center is collecting the items to help those around us who are in need.
Don’t forget we have more than two dozen fitness classes that can whip your ticker into shape, including some of our most popular new clinics. You won’t get bored with Super Circuit, since it increases strength and endurance by rotating you through a variety of fun exercise stations. The Tuesday/Thursday class is held 6-7 p.m. and will finish up Feb. 21. Get in while you can.
You also have a little time left to join Genese Kerns for her new mat-based Pilates clinic. Kerns will engage all your muscles at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays in this non-impact exercise class, while offering lots of variation for people of different activity levels. But get here early, because the class fills up. You have until Feb. 27.
For more information or to sign up for seminars, contact Chota Recreation Center at 865-458-6779.
Orientations on the proper use of the cardiovascular and weight equipment will be provided at 2 p.m. Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28.
The Tellico Village Tarpons Swim Team will be hosting swim clinics 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, and 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5. The Wellness Center pool will be closed to all other activities during these times. Check out tellicovillagetarpons.swim-team.us for more information about the Tellico Tarpons.
Tennessee Orthopedic Clinic offers a free on-site injury assessment and home exercise instruction 10 a.m.-noon Wednesdays at the Wellness Center.
