Bruno is the featured pet of the week at Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A 1-year-old red pit bull mix, he has a non-aggressive personality and gets along with other dogs. He walks well with a leash and appears at least partially trained.
Bruno is a quick learner who loves attention and will smile for the camera. As with any large dog, Bruno would be better suited with a family that has children older than a toddler.
All animals adopted from the animal shelter are spayed or neutered, have age-appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped with registration. Cats are tested for the feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus, and dogs are tested for heart worms.
The Spay Neuter Assistance for Pets program offers free vouchers to qualifying families for a spay or neuter procedure at participating local veterinarians. Visit http://www.spaytennessee.org to find other options.
People Promoting Animal Welfare in Greenback offers low-cost neutering for those who do not meet income or county qualifications.
Shelter needs this week include paper towels, laundry detergent, scoopable cat litter, copy paper, bleach, Q-tips, cotton balls, Dawn, cleaning supplies and office supplies. Scoopable cat litter is especially needed.
