Photography on display
The Tellico Village Photography Club recently donated more than 20 pictures for the Fort Loudoun Medical Center cafeteria. Many of the pictures were taken locally and of wildlife and scenery.
The project was created and headed by the Patient Family Partnership Council at FLMC, which is made up of community members and hospital employees. The council meets monthly to discuss health care issues and work collaboratively on projects that impact the hospital and community care needs.
The goal through the photography donation was to make the cafeteria a brighter space for the community, which includes the family and loved ones of patients.
GNS helps out
In 2018, Good Neighbors Shoppe supported Smoky Mountain Service Dogs with a donation of $21,750. At a recent Passing of the Leash ceremony at the Community Church at Tellico Village, recognition and appreciation was given to Jim Autry, husband of former GNS president Ann Autry, and Asia Smith, granddaughter of Roberta and Gene Burwell, founders of GNS.
The Good Neighbors Shoppe is able to continue helping others because of donations of furniture and goods from the community. More than 100 volunteers work at GNS.
