Sixty state legislators got a little less than $10,000 in donations for charities in their communities during the Tennessee Health Care Association’s Partnering for Charity event last month at The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville.

Rep. Jimmy Matlock, R-Lenoir City, landed $100 for The Boys & Girls Club of the Monroe Area.

Each year, the charity giveaway is part of the THCA’s legislative conference, an event bringing long-term care professionals together with state lawmakers to discuss what it takes to provide quality services for the state’s elderly and disabled.

“Every year, our members look forward to this event,” THCA Executive Director Jesse Samples said. “It is a great opportunity to join forces with legislators to give back to the areas they serve.”
