Don’t have a lawn service? Your lawn suffers from the same irrigation, heat, fertilization, weed prevention and pest control needs as Villagers who have those needs taken care of by a professional lawn service.

Tellico Village University will offer a two-hour class in do-it-yourself home lawn maintenance 9-11 a.m. Aug. 18 in Room D at Chota Recreation Center.

John Goddard, University of Tennessee Extension agent and Loudon County director, will teach the basics of home lawn care. Even residents who use a lawn service could pick up pointers to help maintain a beautiful lawn.

Goddard will cover the types of grass to select in this area, planting and maintenance of lawns, pests, disease prevention and treatment. Goddard will also field questions.

There is a $5 tuition charge for the class payable to STAYinTV at the class.

Registration is required through the TVU website at www.tvuniversity.org. The “Classes in TV” tab provides details about each class. The “Contact Us” page links directly to the simple registration form.
