The Tellico Village Solo Club has hit the 160-member mark.

New officers for the club include Barbara Tunnacliffe, president; Christine Stevens, vice president of membership; JoAnn Hoffman and Lois Hebert, vice presidents of social activities; Pat Reome, secretary; and Dan Sprich, treasurer.

The club’s events during the winter months included a Cumberland County Playhouse trip, wine tasting, evening game events and regular dining out socials.

Spring started off with the annual spring picnic in May, which was held at Doug’s Place. The May mystery trip was an all-day event with a guided walking tour of Knoxville and lunch. Erna O’Connor and Barbara Sanders planned the event, as they do each year.

In June, club members went on a sports trip to see a Tennessee Smokies baseball game planned by Ernie Simmons. The Smokies lost despite cheers from the group.

In August, the club took trips to the McClung Museum, the East Tennessee Historical Society and to the new music building at the University of Tennessee.

Fall activities will include another trip to the Cumberland County Playhouse and another outing for September is in the works, which is being planned by JoAnn Hoffman and Lois Hebert.

The club’s annual October picnic is scheduled at the Tellico Village pavilion and is being organized by Kara May and the committee.

In November and December, the club takes time out for individual gatherings with family and friends. The Christmas gala will be held at the Yacht Club and is being planned by Judy Caygill and committee.
