A new movement in collective philanthropy has officially launched in Loudon County with the successful inaugural meeting of 100 Women Who Care of Loudon County, bringing together more than 65 women on June 16 for an evening focused on community impact and charitable giving.
The newly formed giving circle is built on a simple but powerful concept: 100 women + 1 hour + $100 each = $10,000 to make an immediate and meaningful difference for local nonprofit organization serving the community.
During the inaugural event, three deserving nonprofit organizations were selected to present their missions to attendees, each sharing the important work they are doing. Presenting organizations included Adopt a Class, TN, Smoky Mountain Service Dogs, and The Animal Protecterates, TN.
Following the presentations, attendees cast their votes to determine which organization would receive the evening’s collective donation.
The selected nonprofit was The Animal Protecterates, represented at the event by Shelley and Sergio Rios. Immediately following the vote, participating members wrote individual $100 checks, resulting in a total donation of $6,500, which was presented to the organization that same evening.
“This is exactly what the giving circle was created to do — bring women together to create immediate impact in our community by supporting organizations doing incredible work,” organizers shared following the event.
100 Women Who Care of Loudon County will continue meeting on a quarterly basis, with the next gathering scheduled for October 2026, where three new nonprofit organizations will once again present for the opportunity to receive the group’s collective donation.
Women interested in becoming part of this growing philanthropic community are encouraged to join by visiting Grapevine and searching for 100 Women Who Care of Loudon County.
Together, a small individual gift becomes a powerful force for change.
