Patriot Church in Lenoir City will host a benefit concert at 6:00 PM Sunday, featuring American idol finalist and longtime musician, Casey James.
Pastor of the church, Ken Peters, said it’s the first time the church has hosted a benefit concert. He said the proceeds from that evening will go to Alliance Woman’s Clinic that hopes to open soon in Lenoir City. It is a non-profit organization, and its goal is to help women in crisis, including those who are pregnant and considering an abortion.
“I think there’s no greater cause to save babies and women at the same time,” said Peters. “And, this ministry (Alliance Women’s Clinic) does it all for free. They take care of girls in trouble. We want to help them with the finances so they can do that.”
Peters said his church hopes the money raised at the concert will help Alliance Women’s Clinic complete its building project and open its doors.
“We are recommending donations at the door. We’re asking for a minimum of $25, but we’re hoping for $50 to $100,” Peters said. “Every cent is going to the Alliance Women’s Clinic.”
Peters said Casey James also will not be taking any of the funds from what is raised Sunday.
“Casey is offering his time. He’s doing this for nothing. And the Church is offering the building for nothing,” he said.
Patriot Church is located at 270 Hickman Street in Lenoir City. The Concert begins at 6:00 PM Sunday. A donation of $25 or more is suggested at the door.
