Community Church at Tellico Village will be holding its annual fall craft sale 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 5 in the Christian Life Center.

A variety of crafts ideal for holiday presents or decorating the home will be available, most made by residents of Tellico Village, Angie Holmes, a crafter and organizer, said.

This is the first year of the fair’s return following a break for COVID-19.

Holmes said shoppers should first stop at the baked good tables since homemade treats, including pastries, cakes and brownies, go quickly.

Floral offerings include Christmas wreaths as well as flower arrangements for the home. She said floral arrangements have been put together with great skill and care.

“We have very creative and talented people working on making these each year,” she said.

Mailbox covers with fall and Christmas themes to brighten the neighborhood are quite popular every year.

“If your supply of note cards and bridge tallies are getting low, stock up at the sale,” Holmes said.

The many craft items available are not just for holidays but many other occasions as well, she said. Hostess gifts or baby shower presents are also for sale.

Holmes said she is involved with needlework, including sewing, knitting and crocheting.

“Stop by the sewing table to see what they have to offer,” she said.

Shoppers at the fair will find things they may not have realized they needed. A good example are “scrubbies,” ingenious pads made from mesh netting that come in two sizes and are used for everything from cleaning dishes to polishing wheel rims.

Other offerings include beaded jewelry, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and ankle bracelets with ball markers and stroke counters for avid golfers.

All proceeds from the sale benefit charities in Loudon and Monroe counties, including scholarships, the Child Advocacy Center, Tellico Village First Responders, the Good Shepherd Center of Monroe County, Iva’s Place and Smoky Mountain Service Dogs.

Although the church sponsors the group, membership is not required for participation. Anyone interested in meeting new people with similar interests is welcome and can drop by the church 9:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays.

Bring cash or a checks to the sale since credit cards are not accepted.
