The Tellico Village Property Owners Association Board of Directors announced last week the appointment of a new chief executive officer to succeed the retiring Winston Blazer.
Chester Pillsbury has more than 15 years of experience leading property owners associations. He will assume responsibilities Sept. 12 and will transition with Blazer through the end of the year.
“I am truly honored to be joining the leadership team at Tellico Village,” Pillsbury said. “Tellico Village is a wonderful community filled with incredible people, and I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to help make it the best it can be.”
Pillsbury most recently served with Heritage Property Management Services as general manager for Del Webb at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga. He said he has a multifunctional background in operations, IT, large property management and business development.
“Tellico Village is the most interesting type of community a property manager could get his hands on,” he said.
Pillsbury said he holds degrees in education and theology. He said his previous 18-year career in IT management gave him experience in contracts and personnel management in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Hawaii and internationally.
He said he is planning to spend a lot of his time meeting people in the community.
“I’m really not a desk guy,” Pillsbury said. “The residents of the Village will probably meet me somewhere out in the community.”
Pillsbury said he will be addressing needs in the community, including improving infrastructure and making sure operations are meeting the needs of residents. He said changing demographics create unique opportunities for growth and change.
Pillsbury is uniquely equipped to serve the community of Tellico Village, Marty Inkrott, TVPOA board president, said.
“Chet will be an invaluable leader for Tellico Village,” Inkrott said. “He has a proven record of driving operational efficiencies and improving services, and his background is a perfect fit for our community. From managing infrastructure to improving operations and providing the exceptional quality of life our residents expect, Chet is the right person for the job.”
Blazer has served the Village more than 29 years, including 24 years as general manager/CEO.
“He has played a key role in shaping Tellico Village into the vibrant and desirable community it is today,” according to an announcement from the POA board. “We are truly grateful for his leadership, hard work and dedication, and wish him all the best in his retirement.”
