Michele, Jasper and Sparkle are the featured pets of the week at Monroe County Animal Shelter.
As a 2-year-old tortoiseshell, Michele is past crazy-kitten antics but still has plenty of kitten fun in her. Michele is an indoor-only cat and is litter-box proficient. She loves attention and isn’t afraid to let you know it’s time to show her some.
A 6-month-old white with black domestic short-haired cat, Jasper loves to play. He is fascinated with boxes. When he isn’t playing or talking, he peacefully watches the world go by. He is looking for that forever home where he can talk and someone will listen.
Sparkle is a 3-month-old white and gray tabby who is still a little unsure of the world. She is a bit shy at first. She is a sweet girl who loves her toys and will play with you once she is comfortable in your home. She just needs love.
The shelter has reopened with regular hours of 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at 170 Kefauver Lane in Madisonville behind Walmart.

For the protection of staff, volunteers and the public, we will only be able to accommodate one family at a time. Wearing a mask is greatly appreciated. Please call when you arrive at the shelter.
All animals adopted from the animal shelter are spayed or neutered, have age-appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped with registration.
Cats are tested for the feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus, and dogs are tested for heart worms.
The Spay Neuter Assistance for Pets program offers free vouchers to qualifying families. Those in Loudon County can visit http://www.spay tennessee.org to find other options.
