Adopt-a-Class proudly introduced for sale its seventh collection of unique and beautiful greeting cards this month.

The Adopt-a-Class fundraiser features art created by local public elementary school students, who are publicly recognized and gifted with a framed copy of their print and cards for their family.

Cards will be available for direct purchase at the Tellico Village Farmer’s Market from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the following Wednesdays — April 10, 17 and 24. The Market is located in the parking lot behind the Tellico Village Welcome Center on Chota Road.

Work began months in advance with the distribution of protocols and materials to art teachers at Loudon, Steekee and Vonore elementary schools, a press release stated.

A team of charity members selected designs from hundreds of submissions in early March. And the “winners” were then mounted and professionally printed on high quality card stock.

Final preparation by volunteers included trimming, folding and boxing with envelopes. Adopt-a-Class members complete this fundraiser with booth sales and home deliveries.

"Although much work is involved, this project is a win for the students, schools and the charity!" the release stated.

The 2024 Spring Collection has a theme of local nature and landscape. Each boxed set includes all 14 cards with self-sealing envelopes — at a tax-exempt cost of $15.

Each card is blank on the inside for versatility. The card back includes charity information and the student artist’s first name, grade and school.

This spring, Adopt-a-Class also produced a bonus pack of four internationally themed cards, which is available at booths and with delivered boxed sets for an additional $5.

For free home delivery in Tellico Village and Rarity Bay, a check payable to “Adopt-a-Class” may be sent with the delivery address to Karen Hamerslag at 232 Elohi Way, Loudon, TN 37774. Cards will also be available at Sloan’s Hardware from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, and the following Saturday, April 20.

Adopt-a-Class accepts personal checks and cash only. Visit adoptaclasstn.org for more information.
