TELLICO VILLAGE, Tenn. — On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Italy with Bella gave a presentation at the Tellico Village Public Library.
The company is a travel agency that provides consultation on trips to Italy people want to make. Italian-American dual-citizen and Italy with Bella President Anthony Campopiano talked about the group’s travel plans … as well as some great destinations to visit in the country.
Breaking Down the Four Regions of Italy
When talking about the top places to visit in Italy, Campopiano broke the country up into four parts. The different parts were Northern Italy, Central Italy, Southern Italy and The Islands.
Campopiano talked about the diversity that each region provides.
“Going from one region to another, the food, the culture and even the language changes,” he told his audience at the Tellico Village Public Library.
“This is because Italy has been conquered so many times. It was never fully unified until the late 1900s.”
Northern Italy is highlighted by Veneto, which contains the city of Venice. The region is known for its wine.
Central Italy is where Tuscany is located and is also home to Campopiano’s favorite place in the country — Umbria.
“It is easy to get to a train station from there,” Campopiano said when talking about Umbria. “It is a quick ride to Tuscany and a one hour-and-twenty-minute ride to Rome.
“It is really centrally located. If you want real Italy, I always recommend Umbria.”
Southern Italy is home to Campania which has the city of Naples in it. Naples is well-regarded for being the birthplace of pizza.
The Islands refer to Sicily and Sardegna. Campopiano talked about what the two Mediterranean land masses off Italy’s coast had to offer; the beaches were the big highlighting factor.
“Italy has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world,” he stated. “They have the most blue flag beaches. … This means they are the most blue, the cleanest and most eco-friendly.”
How Italy with Bella Plans Your Trip
Campopiano, along with other members of Italy with Bella, can help you plan your desired trip to the country.
Along with the planning, they can provide you with needed services for your trip such as booking airfare, in-country transportation, dining experiences and even tours.
“The best part for customers is that this is not a package,” Campopiano stated to his crowd at the Tellico Village Public Library. “You essentially give us a budget and duration for your trip, and we will help map it out for you.”
