TELLICO VILLAGE, Tenn. — On Thursday, December 4, The Yacht Club at Tellico Village hosted a Christmas-themed New Villagers Social.
The event put a holiday season twist on a way of welcoming new residents to the Tellico Village community.
New Villagers Social Coordinator Linda Haar talked about everything the event had to offer.
“It is an opportunity for the new people of Tellico Village to meet each other,” Haar told The Connection. “The club plans activities as well. We are going to go over what we have planned for January 2026.”
The Christmas-themed social on December 4 was the last event planned for the new Villagers in 2025.
New Villagers Receive Gifts Through a Fun Christmas Game
One of the activities that happened during the New Villagers December Social was a Christmas-themed game called “Left, Right.”
Each participant, or new Villager, starts with a gift and can decide to pass it to the person either on their left or right.
“We typically give away a certain amount of gifts,” said Haar. “This time, we got something for everyone.”
The Christmas Social Drew Lots of Attendance
The New Villagers December Social was a highly anticipated event that saw lots of guests.
The December 4 event had two separate sessions: One started at 3:30 p.m. and the other event started at 6 p.m. According to Haar, that was because there were so many new Villagers.
New Villagers Get a Look at the Many Clubs Tellico has to Offer
In the main room on The Yacht Club’s lower floor, the guests of the social got a look at the many clubs that are available to new Villagers.
There were also many other clubs with stands set up in the side by the bar room.
“After the Left, Right game, the new Villagers will have a chance to meet with some of the clubs,” Haar stated.
She added: “I encourage everyone who is new to enjoy Tellico Village.
“It is a great community. … Everyone is so friendly and comes from all sorts of places. Get out there and get involved!”
