Softball league starting up

The Tellico Men’s Senior Softball League is returning to action in the spring and will hold a new player meeting at 11 a.m. March 16 at Chota Recreation Center.

The slow-pitch league is open to all men age 55 and over by Dec. 31, 2021, and is for residents in Loudon County and surrounding communities.

Play consists of a seven-inning, 10-game regular season in the spring and fall. The cost is $50 per player, which includes field rental fees, bats, balls, shirts, a picnic and a pizza party.

All games will be played on Tuesdays at Loudon Municipal Park starting April 6. Every player will be expected to follow all Loudon Parks and Recreation COVID-19 guidelines during the season and must sign a team waiver form. Practices will be held at noon March 18, 23, 25 and 30 at Loudon Municipal Park, and all new players are required to attend at least one practice prior to the start of the regular season.

Linksters set meetings

The Lady Linksters Golf League will hold two informational kick-off meetings based off a person’s last name.

The first meeting will be for A-K 10 a.m.-noon March 5 at the Yacht Club. A second meeting will be for L-Z 10 a.m.-noon March 11. Registration forms will be available at the meeting. Please bring a check or cash. Annual dues are $20, with a check made payable to Lady Linksters.

This nine-hole golf league is open to all Village women golfers regardless of skill level. The Linksters is a great beginner league and a non-competitive fun group that loves to golf. If you cannot attend the kick-off meeting, registration forms are at all Tellico Village pro shops. Registration drop off and payment will only be accepted at the Toqua Golf Course clubhouse.
