On March 9 at the Wellness Center Courts (200 Dohi Drive, Loudon), we have Tito Lladro coming to TVPBC to do a morning session of training with our Instructors.
And at 12:30 p.m., Tito will play several exhibition matches with Tellico Village club members.
Tito Lladro is a professional pickleball player and instructor who is Knoxville-based. Tito’s participation is sponsored by Thomas Cook (retiretotellico.com). Spectators are invited.
APRIL TOURNAMENT
In April, the Tellico Village Pickleball Club is hosting its annual Spring Open Tournament.
This will be a significant event in that we are partnered with Fort Loudon Region’s Special Olympics. The event will span five days, and the tournament is sponsored by Campbell Financial Goup
• April 25 — At 4 p.m., we will host Special Olympians and provide training on how to play pickleball (which Special Olympics has added as a sport).
We welcome spectators from all over to come out and cheer on our future Olympians.
• April 26-28 — We hold our Open Tournament. We expect 250 participants from a half-dozen states or more.
Last year, we had players from 14 to 84 years old! The tournament has potential for 72 different brackets of competition.
We go from 2.5 to open 4.5+ levels and have both Men’s and Women’s as well as mixed play at various age brackets.
Again spectators are welcome.
• April 29 — We hold our After Glow Party. The Party at the Yacht Club at Tellico Village provides a lovely environment where we have live music (Second Wind), appetizers and both silent and live auctions to raise money for our Special Olympics partner.
This is open to the public with ticket purchase.
