Anna Marie King Towne, 86, of Loudon, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, after a short but courageous battle.
Born to the late Thomas Richard and Suvella Oneita Siler King in St. Louis, Mo., Anna was a member and enjoyed worshipping at First Baptist Church in Tellico Village. A talented seamstress, Anna created one-of-a-kind purses and pocketbooks. She loved quilting and creating beautiful patchworks to share with family and friends. Anna was an avid member and contributor of “Quilts of Valor." She was looking forward to getting back to her passion and the activities she loved.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Lubbert; and brother, Thomas King.
Anna is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Harmon L. Towne of Loudon; children, John Thomas (Kathy) Eagen of Buckeye, Ariz., Susan Curtis of Sunfield, Mich., Michael (Sue) Towne and Valerie Ann (Rodney) Geiser, all of Goshen, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathryn (Glenn) Elder of Versailles, Ky.; brother, Patrick King of Wentzville, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services honoring and remembering Anna were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at First Baptist Church in Tellico Village with the Rev. Charlie Barnard officiating. A private interment of Anna’s remains will take place at a later date in Goshen, Ind.
