George E. Martin, 74, of Tellico Village, passed away Nov. 8, 2021.
Born to Floyd Richard Martin and Justine Campbell Martin, he had two brothers, James Pierce Martin and Michael Martin.
The true love of his life was Linda Dominion, who he married in 1972, and spent the rest of his life with. He was the proud stepfather of Tina, Jo Ann and Jeffrey; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
George was an honorably discharged United States Air Force Vietnam veteran. He was a member of the Boiler Makers International Union Local 85 and was a Field Construction Boiler Maker. He was proud of his part in helping build America. In his 40-year career, he worked in over 30 states from New York to California and Wisconsin to Oklahoma, Hawaii and Alberta, Canada.
He loved to deer hunt in the West Virginia woods and enjoyed driving through the mountains looking at “rocks and trees," especially in the fall of the year. After he retired and moved to Tennessee, he was an active member of the Tennessee Bear & Boar Association and made many friends. He enjoyed grilling lunch for his fellow hunters during bear hunts.
