William James Peterson, 90, of Loudon, passed away Jan. 6, 2021.
William grew up in Perry, N.Y., and served his country during World War II. After working for the Rochester Telephone Company for 37 years, he retired and moved to Tellico Village, where he built a home on top of a wonderful lot overlooking the mountains. In his lifetime, he was very involved in community activities, was a world traveler and an avid woodworker.
William was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Peterson.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Kocsis-Peterson; daughters, Cheryl Mack (Geof), Brenda Peterson, Cyndy Peterson-Smith and step-daughter, Lora Baker (Ron); step-son, Andy Kocsis; nine grandchildren, Christy, Chad, Matthew, Eric, Liesl, Meghan, Alyssa, James and Andrea; and nine great-grandchildren.
A closed celebration of life service was held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at Community Church at Tellico Village. A livestream of the service was available. Click https://www.tellicochurch.com/ and click “Watch” on the top right of the website.
