Library gears up for Road Rally
The Public Library at Tellico Village will hold its inaugural Literature and Local History Road Rally on Saturday. Clues can be picked up 10-11 a.m. and returned 3-5 p.m.
There are easy and some harder clues designed to test the imagination and love of local history and literature. Car and motorcycle enthusiasts, as well as literature and local history buffs, are welcome. The point of the road rally is to have fun and raise money for the library.
Tickets are $20, or $15 for Friends of the Library, and will be available until 11 a.m. Saturday. For more information, contact the library at 865-458-5199.
The prize for the most number of clues solved is a $100 gift card from the Carmichael Inn in Loudon as well as some bottles of wine for runners-up. The back of every ticket has a 25% coupon from AWE Hospitality good Nov. 7-12.
A “Surviving the Holidays” 1.5-hour, single-session seminar will be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Community Church at Tellico Village. The seminar will cover how to deal with emotions, what to do with traditions, helpful tips for surviving social events and how to find hope for the future. COVID-19 precautions will be observed.
A $5 fee includes a 60-page workbook filled with helpful information. Reservations are required. For more information or to register, call Bob Kryter or Marce Strickland at 865-458-8038.
